My first (semi-)completed novel, Inhuman is a sci-fi/first-contact adventure set …
In the distant future, a weary soldier from the war-torn bastion of humanity finds himself stranded in a world found on no maps, home to a people unlike any other. He tries to adapt to a radically new way of life, but peace is fleeting; the locals have problems of their own, and then there’s the demons of a past that’s unwilling to let go …
Inhuman is a tale of love and prejudice, loss and redemption, and what it means to be human.
I originally wrote and published Inhuman online over the course of about a year circa 2009–2010 (when I was 17–18). It was planned serially, with each chapter outlined as its precedent was posted, which – predictably, in retrospect – resulted in a mess of inconsistencies, plot holes and shifting styles. I’ve been working on overhauling the novel on and off ever since in the hopes that I may one day be at least somewhat satisfied with it.
You can also find all Inhuman-(novel)-related posts using the “Inhuman (novel)” label.
Chapters
Below will be links to all the finished chapters once I eventually complete my revisions. I’ve long ago learned not to try and make any predictions about a timeframe, so they’ll be published once I’m done with them and that may take a while.
Old version
I won’t be publishing the original chapters on this site to avoid cluttering it up (and possibly getting them mixed up with the revised edition). Instead, I’ve uploaded them to Google Docs for all to see and judge. (I have to keep reminding myself we all come from somewhere.)
