This is an art blog, so I don’t expect there’s a real need for strict policing in the comments section. That said, all commenters are expected to heed the following rule in order to retain their posting privileges:
Don’t be a jerk.
What does this mean, broadly speaking? Simple:
- Don’t troll (or engage in any other inflammatory or deliberately jerkish behavior).
- Don’t spam (either plugging unrelated crap or posting multiple rapid-fire comments).
- Don’t be excessively vile (keep your language at least passably civil).
- Don’t make threats. Period.
- Don’t irritate me. The most subjective, but also the easiest to follow: if I tell you to knock something off, do so.
See? Simple.
Regarding comment modification: I generally leave comments alone, but I reserve the right to edit them in the following ways:
- To fix broken links and other formatting issues;
- To delete duplicate (“double-posted”) comments;
- To delete or disemvowel trolling, threatening and other rule-breaking comments; and
- To purge any comments posted by blacklisted individuals trying to evade their ban.
Registered IntenseDebate users may edit their own comments, so long as they haven’t received replies.
No registration is required, and there is no pre-moderation on this site. Note that either or both of these may change in the future if the volume of undesirable comments ever becomes difficult to manage.
All that said, enjoy.
